A very simple but very true statement regarding candle burning success is: How much do you want this?

Case in point, I have had a couple of clients recently that are just capitulating all of their efforts over the length of time it is taking for their love candles to ‘bring them back around’. They are throwing in the towel – plus a few other things!

I remind them to go back and read about my own personal experiences with the pink St. Jude love candle spell – written both here on the www.free-candle-spells.com site but also in my other website,www.tarotbyjacqueline.com. Did you know that it took 7 candles (OK do the math – 7 candles times 7 days each candle = 49 days) before the “light bulb came on” – if you know what I mean!

It is natural to have days where it seems that nothing is working, and sometimes it isn’t. When you are burning candles to change a situation, there are outside factors you need to determine that are in play at the same time that you are burning your candle. Everyone has an agenda – what is in it for me? – and hormones, time of the Moon, frustrations, diet, rest and environment come into play when creating a candle spell. I ask my clients many, many questions – I need to know what is ‘going on in the background’ to figure out if a red candle should be burnt simultaneously to give energy to the first petition candle, for example, when creating a candle spell for them.

Again, I want to caution that also because of these outside influences described above, no candle burning work is 100% guaranteed. If you are working with someone that is claiming a 100% guarantee of their work, please take a step back and give it a moments’ thought and include the above factors listed in the last paragraph.

When I discuss longevity regarding doing a spell I consider these things:

1. If it is in regards to love, how long has the other person been gone? - Especially important because the longer they are gone, the harder it is to use candle magic alone to bring them back. Don’t wait for three months expecting them to come crawling back on their knees so you can be right – get right into candle work after a major blowout or break up.  I will repeat myself – the longer the other person is gone, the harder it is going to be to use candle magic alone to bring them back. You will need other items in your arsenal to make it happen.

2. What have you changed about yourself that will be an attractant for the ‘lost loved one’ to reconsider and come back? – There is fault on both sides in varying degrees when there is a breakup. Make sure you have taken steps to change YOUR behavior before commenting on others’ behaviors.

3. With regards to money – when do you need it? Christmas 1987? Next year? The 3rd week of each month? – NOOOOOO!!!! You need money each and every DAY and you SHOULD be burning green candles with Bayberry Anointing Oil or one of the Money Drawing Oils until you get your fill. How much is too much money? Well, each bank can hold up to $10,000 in one account in your name. Would be kind of nice that you have at least TWO – $10,000 accounts tucked away in the bank, wouldn’t it?

4. Really…How much can candles really cost you if you are seeing some changes? I can see if you were blowing $25.00 or more each week, but in reality a pink candle for affection and romance, a green candle for money drawing, a blue candle for peace in the home and a yellow candle for success  can cost you about $10.00 a week, including the investment of the “Fire of Love”,  ”Success”, “Fast Luck”, “Money Drawing” and “Peace” Condition or Anointing Oils that are used on these candles.

In a nutshell, that man, that girl, that raise, that job, that degree is WORTH it if you come out ahead -and isn’t that really what you want – to win, right? If the intended target is worth it to you, don’t complain about the cost and get in there and burn those candles!

There are a lot of factors to consider when attempting to use candle burning spells to reconnect with someone. My first question would be: How long have you been apart? That right there should be the most determining piece of information needed to create a candle spell. But, because this was not offered, I am going to assume that it has not been too long.

I would take two white 7-day glass ‘novena’ or ‘vigil’ type candles and after cleaning them, label them with the full name of yourself and the other party. Then I would get some “Spirit”, “Spirit Guide”, “Come to Me” Condition Oil or even in a pinch, olive oil that you have extended your hands over and prayed a heartfelt and sincere prayer of blessing and intention. Anoint the candles with the oil, rubbing the oil in counterclock-wise to draw them back. Attache the name papers. If you have a photograph, use that as well.

Take candles to an area on your desk or where your telephone is located. This spell is best to use when you can leave the telephone (or land line) alone and answer from another part of the house. However, if this is impossible or you do not have a land line but only a cellular phone, place the cell phone between the two candles as much as possible (even overnight when you are charging it) for maximum exposure. Sit the candles on either side of the telephone in flame retardant saucers (just in case). Pray over the candles again your heartfelt prayer and follow it with one of your own belief system (Hail Mary, Our Father, etc.) Light candles and keep them lit.

It is also said that if you desire someone to call, you may wipe down the telephone with whiskey that has has loose tobacco steeping in it. The legend is that  Native American (almost everyone has them, right?) Spirit Guides will be attracted to the scent of the mixture and will activate the ‘spark’ to make a call happen.

We have all been ‘there’. I call then “Whammy” Months (or weeks, or whatever). This is when the washer breaks, the check gets lost in the mail, when the cars’ brakes go out and whatever else that comes down that rains on your household. This is not the ‘normal’ things – it is a flood of constant one after the other incidents that gets you so preturbed that you just KNOW something is up. Most likely, you have been ‘crossed’ or ‘crossed up’. This can be done in various ways, either by placing a powder for you to step in, someone ‘lifting’ your shoe print to use, or by placing your name in a jar with various substances and burning candles on your name. Ironically, there are some people whose power is so strong, they only have to look at you ‘wrong’ and things go haywire.

PERSONAL STORY: I have a girlfriend that I would freelance work in her flower shop and I would admire her jewelry – after all, is it from Afghanistan and the gold from the Middle East is of a different quality than ours. She would always say to me after I would praise her personal effects, “Jackie, look at your nails!” WHAAAT? Well, in Afghani tradition, if you desire something, you mark that person or item with bad luck and to ‘dissolve’ this envious eye (‘evil eye’ or ‘malochio’), the person making the exclamation is to look at their nails until the desire goes away. Then all ‘evil eye’ has been eliminated.

An individual’s  crossed condition has been blamed by many as the source of their bad luck. The belief is that when things go from “bad to worse”, then someone has ‘crossed you up’. This appears like a stumbling block that has been placed in your path, keeping you from your friends, money, success, love, and good luck. Sometimes just burning a candle is not enough. It is when it seems that enemies, jealous neighbors and family and evil persons who do wrong have used something to change all of your good luck to bad luck. Sometimes, you can actually physically feel the weight of the work being done to you. When your intuition tells you that something is ‘up’, you are probably right and you should use the following uncrossing candle burning spell  to remove a crossed condition.

INGREDIENTS:

1 7- day glass white candle or a glass “Uncrossing” Candle or a glass “Jinx Removing” Candle

1 Double Strength “Uncrossing” or “Jinx Removing” Bath Crystals

1 T. Saltpeter (can get at a pharmacy)

1 bottle Oil of Rosemary (can be obtained at health food stores in beauty section)

1 bottle of “Uncrossing” or “Jinx Removing” Condition Oil

1 Packet John the Conqueror Incense

1 Packet Church Charcoal (get at Botanica or Spiritual Supply) WARNING: DO NOT use barbecue briquettes

Put two tablespoons of the “Uncrossing” or “Jinx Removing” Bath salts in the tub with one tablespoonful of SALTPETER ( if obtained) into your bath water while the water is running, make your wish to remove all envy, jealously and evil from you and repeat the Psalm 11, which reads:

In the Lord put I my trust; how say ye to my soul. Flee as a bird in your mountain?

For lo, to the wicked bend their bow, they make their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

If the foundations by destroyed, what can the righteous do?

The Lord is in His Holy Temple, the Lord’s throne is in Heaven;  His eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

The Lord trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hoteth.

Upon the wicked He shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest; this shall be the portion of their cup.

For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; His countenance doth behold the upright.

After your bath, anoint the palms of your hands and the bottoms of your feet with “Uncrossing” or “Jinx Removing” Condition Oil.

First and always first, clean the candle properly by using the steps located in the blog post in the “Proper Candle Preparation” in the “Categories” section to the right of this blog post.  Let dry.

Then, on a piece of parchment paper write your name 9 times and place it under the “Uncrossing” or “Jinx Removing” Candle.

Place a bowl of water in which you have put 3 drops of Rosemary Oil next to the “Uncrossing” or “Jinx Removing” Candle.

Light candle and let it burn continuously until the crossed condition is removed, burning more than one candle after another until things have eased up. When you go to light the second and subsequent candles, try to use a broom straw and ‘transfer the light’ from the first or the currently lit candle to the unlit candle’s wick. This makes a ‘perpetual light’ that has not been blown out or gone out on its’ own. Like any other candle burning magic spell, do not blow this candle out; it will signify that you are done with doing the spell. If candle goes out before it has finished burning, start over from the beginning, as you have not done the spell properly or your intended victim ‘knows’ that you are attempting to ‘ward him off’ and is working against you stronger than before.

Each morning during this candle spell, burn the John the Conqueror Incense on a church charcoal (not barbecue briquette) and ream Psalm 69 to cast out any evil  before leaving your home to do your business.
