So we have covered some reasons that your candle spell wasn’t working with problems that may have existed before you even considered putting flame to a wick. The second part delved into cheap changing of products and the possibility of being a victim of a rip-off artist. Part three rounds up some more things to consider even after you have eliminated the problems brought up in Parts 1 and 2.

We have already explored the possible reasons of why your love spell is not working with some pre-ritual problems that may forewarn of disastrous results. The second part of this three part series will talk about things that you may be doing that are thwarting your success in your love candle ritual.

1. You are doubtful of the power of candle spell magic and/or you do not have confidence in your own power. – Damn that brain! It keeps you from attaining what you want. You can talk your way right into a funk so low that even Satan needs to send a search party. All jokes aside, you may be thwarting your own success by doing something as little as saying, “I HOPE this candle will bring to me (insert name here)” or “Please let me and (name our target here) get together/back together/fall in love”. URRRRT….NO! One of the best ways to negate any positivity in candle burning is wishing and hoping something will happen. It is better that you wait until you either had a good cuppa joe or feel raging hormones before you light a candle with a POSITIVE MIND. Examples of statements that are truly positive are something like “With the lighting of this candle, I FIRMLY BELIEVE that (insert name here) and I will become a couple in a long lasting and happy relationship that will last forever” or “I KNOW that with the lighting of this candle, I WILL be the next girlfriend/lover/wife of (insert name here”. See how much more affirmative and positive those two statements are?

2. You are skimping on ritual and product or editing the length of ritual - When you read a good spell that just ‘clicks’ with you or if you are under a root workers suggestion to do something, do not buy or obtain items because you believe they can stand in for the real thing  ’in a pinch’. I have had people ask me if they could use a half burned fragrance candle that is PINK like I suggested, but they don’t want to let it ‘go to waste’ so they want to substitute it for a new candle. Look, that candle that was being considered for substitution was meant to cover odors in the bathroom – why would you want to now suggest to use it for a love spell (unless you want your love affair to go down the toilet, right?). The original purchase of the candle was NOT for magic, but clearing the room of nasty odors. Don’t be cheap and go get a fresh, new candle. Also, if you are to do something for X amount of nights, don’t cheat yourself by figuring that you do not need to do the prayer or ritual every day/night. The Saints do not care if you are bone tired, just five minutes of meditation or prayer will do the trick. Heck, even when I was running out the door one morning, I paused and extended my right hand, saying to the candle, “You know my intentions, I just got to not be late for work!”. I backed it up with a wee bit more time in the evening to make sure I was applying the time.

3. You are the victim of a ‘rip off’ artist - They are out there, and more come out of the woodwork when life gets tough. Each spiritual worker, root worker or spell caster determines what is their price for products and their time and work. Some things do take quite a lot of money, like making sure all the items have been properly cleansed, blessed and anointed. Some things are pricey if you are practicing a certain methodology or belief system. But, if you are being charged $100.00 for a candle, without any notice of it being lit or not, you are being victimized when you are at a most vulnerable emotional state. Shame on them!

I have recently seen a pattern in regards to the line of questioning that I am getting in my e-mails regarding love spells. It seems that there are those who are not happy with the outcome or how long it is taking. I thought I would write an article to address some issues or situations that you may be having or are seeing with candle spell work. This is part 1 of a 3 part series that I am writing to address issues in failed love candle spells.

Here is the scenario; you met a guy and you two are really hitting it off. You want to ‘turn it up’, meaning you want to make the two of you get closer. You choose to find a candle spell or you visit the botanica, candle shop or a spiritual worker to do the work for you. It has been some time, not terribly long, but you are not seeing the results you want. Examine these reasons why the love candle spell may not be working and see if any of them sounds familiar.

1. Magic is not “Guaranteed” - Pure and simple. Magic, candles, incantations or even prayers, are the infusion of wishes, desires and hopes that you are releasing into the ethers of the Universe. I see clients all the time who have gone from one reader to a psychic to a spiritual worker, all for naught, because each one had done work for the person/client and it did not turn out the way it was intended or not at all. The Internet is chock full of websites promising, even assuring the reader that their spells ar “100% Guaranteed”.Truth. If it is not meant to Be, then the Almighty will not allow it to happen. The girl or guy might be the most handsome/beautiful/gorgeous body Heaven sent down, but if their is evil intent afoot in the Future and the Higher Power that resides in the clouds doesn’t want you to experience it, then no amount of candles will make It happen. You have to ask, pray, meditate or incant what you desire, but with the understanding of this:

2. You have unrealistic goals – This falls into the “George Clooney or (insert movie/rock star’s name here)” section. There is just some circles that you and your target will circulate in and your paths will NOT cross. Another scenario is the “I’ll wait forever for you, Eddie!” syndrome, despite Eddie being married with 4 kids and a mortgage that would make Donald Trump cringe. Really? You want to become ‘Instant Step-Mom?’. Brave girl. The same goes for men as well; be careful what you wish for…..

3. There are underlying issues, problems and situations to take into consideration (further enhancing the above) – OK, so Eddie is really and truly is “the One”. He’s got 4 kids, a mortgage, and a wife that is taking him to the cleaners. Take a moment and think 5 years down the road – are you planning to be the major ‘breadwinner’ in your relationship with Eddie because three quarters of his check goes to HER? This is an example of what could happen once you are fully entrenched into a relationship. If she/he is cheating now, using now, lying now, then it is bound to happen later as well. Do not try to “fix” another person (which is a great majority of concerns lately). They are what or who they are; love them with all their faults or move on.

She then told me she was doing a candle spell she had found on the Internet about making someone make up their mind. This was the first red flag I saw in the matters of candle burning and I told her so. This candle spell is contradictory in its creation and nature; you just can’t expect someone to stop being wishy-washy and burn a candle to make them choose one way or the other because the person is acting EXACTLY as is being petitioned for – making one choice or the other.

I told her that she needed to trash that spell and do one that basically says, “Get over here and be my man, dammit!” – in a nutshell. Only there was a deeper problem when I told her that this type of clear, direct and demanding candle spell was needed.

She was not sure if she wanted him.

Whaaat? Why are you burning candles for them then, I asked.

Her answer was that if he didn’t want to be with her, then she wanted him to be gone and stay gone but if he really wanted her, he needed to stay and stay stayed (a play with words).

So, we were working on the recipient of the blessing from the candles not being completely and 100% sure if this was what they wanted, coupled with a person that wasn’t sure they wanted to stay or go.

I had to tell her that no candle spell will be successful unless you are completely and totally SURE that the results or outcomes from the candle burning is truly what she wanted.

Kind of like pointing a gun at a person that you would rather be six feet under, pulling the trigger, and then saying, “I really didn’t MEAN IT!!!”

So I suggested a very non-hoodoo-y, magical thing to do: Go make two lists of the good and bad qualities about this person. The list with the more items wins.

It would have been easier for me to play into her candle spell, load her up with a lot more spells to create more confusion and also sell her a bunch more oils.

Jacqueline don’t play that way. I have a higher power that I have to justify my moves with. To summarize my story today, I want to emphasize that you must be certain and focused on your intention you have in regards to candle burning; don’t be weak or flip-flop on your goal, otherwise you might find yourself spending lots of cash with many workers and not getting a whole lot of results – a loss for all concerned.

I lit the candles and for a day it seemed that al was going good. Then the signs came up during the candle burn.

First, one of the two pink candles used in the love spell didn’t burn right. While one was burning correctly, the other had only burned a 3/4 inch opening in the wax – just enough to allow the candle flame to pass. This candle went on for about another day, then went out on its own. The other candle burned brightly until the end. Here’s a photo

Both of these candles were purchased at the same place and lit at the same time. They were side by side in the same environment on my Altar.  In all of my candle burning days, this has only happened twice and both in love spells. can it be technical, like a bad candle pour from the manufacturer? Sure – but these are the same candles  used all the time, bought form the same place.

Given a little information about the couple, I told the client that one has much stronger feelings for the other and the love is not reciprocated as strongly by the other.

Then, about a day and a half later, her other candles started their antics. The court case candle I was burning for her cracked and the wax was oozing out all over the side of the candle, until the flame went out. Her second court case candle went as as well mid way on the burn. I told her that this is not a good sign and that this party in the situation will not be one that she can overcome.

I get an e-mail a week later with this comment:

your candles didn’t help

I then responded by giving some deeper explanation of Faith in God to make these choices for you, but the return e-mails became more of a accusatory tone as if I was at fault for the candles not “helping”.

Candle burning is not the be-all-and-end-all to a difficult situation. It is a plea, a prayer for help from God, the Angels and the Saints. It is a method of connecting with the Spiritual by turning over the decision of the outcome to the Higher Power. It is applying an offering and prayer in a better outcome for you, but ultimately leaving the decision to the Just Judge – God.

Something to consider is that one set of candles is not touted to be the only thing that you have to do. It may take more than one set of candles to get the job done. I have people who light candles constantly so that their situation is always right before God’s eyes. It is a reminder to the recipient that there is something that needs constant attention until the condition improves. I burn green candles for prosperity constantly – for myself. I am a mother of children and I will constantly provide for them. I do not light candles for myself strictly when times are tough but in times of good as well. Setting lights for myself is my way of thanking the Higher Power for the good times and the bad.

You don’t take the newest diet pill touted by the movie stars then go and plow through a double cheese  McWhopper with a hit-me-king-sized fries and a 2 liter cup size of soda, right? Why would you light a candle to get you out of a situation, only to invite the same pattern of behavior in the front door again?

Another consideration is that lighting a candle and not doing practical groundwork on your own success is setting yourself up for a disappointment. Take a couple for instance, if the two of them had a fight and one walks out, the other had better do more than just light a candle and sit on the couch until the other comes back. No, it takes the other to run after the one that left, call them and try some resolution to the matter. If you think you are looking like a fool for trying to reestablish communications right away, how much more badly will you feel when the other is driving around with a new love in their car?

In money and financial situations, lighting a candle and spending like it is going out of style isn’t going to resolve the problem, either. An example is when many people bought homes that were overpriced, or took out second mortgages on top of the first mortgage, or bought multiple houses with the intention of “flipping” them, then either got ‘burned’ by a lender or couldn’t sell the houses, the problem is greed, overstepping your boundaries, and lack of common  sense. Lighting a candle is not going to change bad decisions BUT lighting a candle ad doing everything you can to work with the lender and mortgage company  WILL get you farther. Your sincere humbleness and piety will come out and soften your voice when you are angry at the bank, your sense of Godliness will hold you up when sitting in a chair at the loan company. The knowledge from the Almighty will guide your decisions.

It is the samrt and thoughtful participant that is going to lay the groundwork on candle spells success and do everything in their power to make those positive changes that will bring a higher rate of candle ritual success for all their personal situations.

I was really unsure how to comment on the blog. I attempted, but it left me nowhere to post anything. Anyway. I have decided, if it is okay with you, to post my 3 day, 3 week, and 3 months follow-ups.

It was 3 days actually two Saturdays ago. Talking to my friend (the mate of the target) as I see her daily, there was pretty much a fight the days leading up to me actually performing the Vinegar Jar Spell. I can say.. that the Target only helped my cause or that my energy is probably pretty on point in this situation. So, as for the first official Day after the spell had been put into place, the mate of the target, my friend, had a pretty ho hum and I don’t care outlook about the evening she had planned for the Target. Something really nice, actually. Now, that night they did go out and successfully had fun. And you know what? I am actually glad. I am not glad necessarily that the target and the mate didn’t have a drag out fight, but at the same time I am glad that she did have fun. No matter what we do in someone’s life, we do want them to enjoy life.

The next Jar Moment actually was noticed on the 7th day. The mate contacted the Target to see if he was going to come get her from work and he was aggravated at her. I heard only one side of the conversation and she had excuses for him, but he felt like he was being bothered at work. As for this last week, the mate has taken actions on her own that usually are considered with the Target in mind. So, she is becoming and moving in an independent fashion.. or so, it seems. It is interesting. Usually, she contacts the target throughout the day or he contacts her. She waits for him at night and they plan things together. In the past week, she has driven independently or taking other plans to go home which do not directly involve the Target. He may show up later, but doesn’t seem to be an immediate factor as he used to be for a trip back home from work. She also has been talking to others throughout her day a lot more and focusing less on him.

I was told 3 days for the first signs to show. The signs have been faint, but I feel they are on track. Since the pictures have turned to a pulpy mash, I have not shaken the jar as often. I have also noticed that the nails are clean. I could be shaking the rust off. The 3 razor blades that I failed to mention were also initially slipped into the mix can not be seen at all. Now, here is an odd thing. I had vacuum sealed the jar. I have twisted the lid on so tight that you practically need a wrench to take the lid off. I have also placed the jar into a zip lock bag. The Jar continually leaks. This jar has not been dropped or chipped in any fashion. There is not much that can catch under the lid when I shake it. So, there is not much to be able to drip down, yet.. my jar sits in a puddle that it has chosen to make for itself. Yes, there has to be some amount of gas being created in the mixture. One can also not over look the amount of conflict generating inside the vessel. Whatever energy that is in there is struggling to get out.

I think for the next Full or Waning Moon, I will wrap the jar again and place it in the freezer for an additional element to the situation. See you guys again when the 3 weeks is up.

It would be really cool if you could maybe assemble the contents on a table with the actual jar so that our readers can get an idea of what to expect. If you could do that with your next submission, I am sure they would appreciate that.

It is also interesting that the jar is oozing – maybe about to “Blow it’s Top?” . Looks like there is a festering situation going on and it is “spilling” out and over everywhere, just like your jar. I would be very careful not to spill any drops of that “stuff” in your home.
